Umlando:COMMENT: The first \'izithakazelo\' is used by the Mavundla clan who come from the north in the Greytown/Mvoti area. The second \'izithakazelo\' is used by the Mavundla clan who come from the south in the Port Shepstone/izingolweni districts. Both clan are the same, and were originally called \'Mvundla\' meaning a rabbit or hare in Old Nguni. They are originally of Sotho stock, from the Bafokeng (Mofokeng means a rabbit man). They split with the north going to Howick/Pietermaritzburg area and the south group going to Hlokozi/Highflats area near Ixopo. The north group latter went to Greytown/Zululand districts, and the south group latter went to Izingolweni/Port Shepstone area. Gamalakhe township is named after one of the south Mavundla chiefs; Gamalakhe kaMshiywa kaMagobheni. Mthimude was the chief of the Izingolweni area during the Shaka\'s reign.
